Meeting Recap! 04/01/2021

New month theme! We welcome UNICEF to one of our concluding themes of the school year already...where did the time go?

April is the month of Climate Change, an issue that is exponentially increasing every day, thus furthering the urgency. We therefore urge all UNICEF members to continue to educate themselves on this matter and what we can do to help with environmental awareness.

The officer applications are due TODAY at 11:59pm, so please do turn them in if you even have the slightest interest! We encourage you all to do so! Reminder that the week after spring break especially on days April 14th and 16th, we will be holding interviews so make sure to look out for the text that holds your prospective date/time!

To dive into the theme of Climate Change, we watched a video hosted by National Geographic, where famous Prince Ea performs his apology slam poetry dedicated to the Earth. We watched an additional video by UNICEF on more about the COVID-19 vaccine (we are still in a pandemic! Please take care of yourselves, and when you get the chance, we encourage you all to get the vaccine if eligible!)

We finally had an educational Kahoot introducing us to this month's theme (spoiler: many statistics about the environment surprised us!) and concluded with our exit ticket. We will see you all at our next April meeting, and please continue to stay safe and healthy!
